2nd 2 None - Darling Downs - Queensland - Sublime Wine

2nd 2 None (formally Wedgetail Ridge Estate) is a working vineyard, winery and cellar door. At 2nd 2 None, we grow Shiraz, Durif, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Viognier. Weproduce a traditional range of wines and a range of wines infused with botanticialos such as ginger, lemon myrtle, ginseng, guarana etc. The innovative infused range is based on grapes and somewhere throughtout the winemaking process, the winemaker and herbalist will include the herbs. Sometimes the herbs are included at the ferment point, other times after ferment, or perhaps while in the barrols. Each infused wine takes between three and four years to develope. Our winemaker has about 36 years experience whilest our herbalist has about 20 years. Their have been many disappoints and wonderful moments along the creative path of the infused range . We make no health claims however we do say they are very tasty, go extremely well with foods and we have had fun stepping outside the square when we have named the wines such as Ginger Zinger, Ginger Crush, Yellow Tango, Nite Cap, Gee Spot and X Spot (just to name a few). On the traditional range we produce fruity and dry, red and white, sparkling and also a fortified which of course we can no longer call Port so we have named it PJ's and Slippers instead.

Depending on the seasons, we sometimesbuygrapeswhen our vinetages or small due to droughtsand otherchallenges from mother nature.Of course we also make wines under contract for other growers who we are happy to say have won medals and awards for the wines we have produced for them.We also have an olive grove and produce olive oil.

2nd 2 None is not officially certified organic however the property has been in Suzanne Nation's family for almost 100 years. Suzanne's family have always been conscious of the environment. Approximately 65% of the property has been set aside as a natural fauna and flora santury. The ridge has a natural standing of pine trees which is the only one of its kind for several hundred kilometres. The ridge is also home to a family of Wedgetail Eagles that have resided on the property for at least the last 100 years also. In fact there are 5 nests and wewere pleased torecently see the eaglet out and about withthe parents. Theridgealso has many other raptor and bird species too. In 2000 Suzanne signed contracts with Greening Australia and Land for Wildlife. Her family also planted in the same year about 1500 gum trees and she has been adding to the grove when weather conditions permit.

The cellar door is open daily from 10am to 4pm except for Christmas Day, Good Friday and after 1pm on Anzac day We have an alfresco outdoor area where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine together with cheese platters or perhaps an expresso coffee.
