Grove Estate - Hilltops - New South Wales - Sublime Wine

The Flanders, Kirkwood and Mullany families established the Grove Estate vineyard in the red volcanic soils around Young in New South Wales in 1989. They produce wines under their own label as well as supplying grapes to some of the country’s top winemakers.

Since 1989, over 40 hectares of vines have been planted including the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Zinfandel, Barbera, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Semillon & Nebbiolo.

Clonakilla winemaker Tim Kirk uses Grove Estate fruit for his Hilltops Shiraz and makes the Cellar Block Shiraz Viognier for Grove Estate which has become a frequent gold medal and trophy winner at regional, national and international wine shows.

In the words of Tim Kirk “The Grove Estate fruit is fantastic, it’s not difficult to make really good wine when you’re dealing with such terrific raw materials. The Hilltops district is now really hitting its straps as a producer of wines with real flavour and the elegant dimension that a cooler climate provides.”
